Jo's Story

Fly Fishing South Island New Zealand

Jo was raised running, not walking, barefoot and free in Southern California. Spending endless hours exploring the back bays and beaches opened Jo’s imagination to the magic of nature by the sea.  Pockets full of treasures a testament to Jo’s keen eye.  Her love for nature, animals and the impossible has always driven her to find the beauty in what others pass by.

Every element that goes into a JoMac design tells a story. While riding Jo’s beloved horse Sedona on BLM land in Prescott, Arizona a piece of rusted metal or dried bone will later reveal their beauty in a necklace. Shells from a New Zealand beach, stones from a river while fly-fishing, or a natural treasure found trailside on a high mountain hike may all find their way into a JoMac design.

From a very early age Jo was mesmerized by her mother’s unique, creative style. Watching her design and create amazing ball room dancing costumes with the ability to” make something out of nothing” always stuck with her.

Jo’s own curiosity for design started when she was a little girl playing in her mother’s jewelry drawer. The secret garden of jewelry filled with unique, one of a kind pieces is where Jo’s world of magic and expression came to life.  Jo began curating her own personal style at a very early age……not being one to follow the crowd.

Jo has been blessed to lead a multi- faceted and well-traveled lifestyle in Colorado. Her community has helped her give a voice to others, spending time volunteering, coaching Special Olympics, Rotary, fundraising, and contributing to the education of those who fell through the cracks.  Encouraging others to go beyond their personal limits gives her the courage to step out into the unknown. It’s the thread that runs through her life and everything she does. Living fully without fear gives her strength and compassion for all things in her path.

In 2003 having met life changing events head on and sitting sipping wine at the dining room table of a like-minded creative cohort, her jewelry designing became the next chapter in her life……. and she fully embraced the attitude of her mother’s by “making something out of nothing”! This attitude continues to drive her passion to create. “Thanks Mom!”

So...I  would like to say to you all….and you know who you are. Thank you for never giving up on me with love and kindness sprinkled with truth!!!!!  You are all in everything I do.

Curating a collection especially designed for you.  Jo
